I have a teenage son.NO WAY IN HELL would I even imagine, not for a single millisecond, leaving him behind to fend for himself in such a disaster! Being forced to contemplate the scenario makes me sick. That another decent(?) human being would suggest as much to a mother is shocking(or at least implies frank ignorance of the indelible strength characterizing the bonds of motherhood). My heart breaks for Rosa Abbott, having lost both(& then being unable to bury one) of her sons-God rest her soul.

In the book, "A Night To Remember" and other books, it states that it took 39 seconds between the sighting of the iceberg and the collision. Sixth Officer James Moody, in his testimony, said First Officer William M. Murdoch did ordered a hard-a-starboard and full astern on telegraph. I sure Moody never lied about that.
