  • For the weight and usability, shouldn't you take an axe for splitting wood instead of batoning with that steel bar?

  • @Rhinoch8 Yes... if you have one with you. Batoning with a knife is just to show that a great bushblade can be very versatile. You can also use a wood wedge to split thicker logs (using the knife to start the initial split).

  • this is a beautiful knife with a beautiful handle but i just find the handle to be a little too thin for my liking. i own the fjellkniven and i'm looking into purchasing the even longer fossekalen. yeah no battoning. i tried and the wood on my old fjellkniven split.

  • Great review, and I love the knife. I plan on buying one of these or a Helle Harding. Maybe both.
