  • not completely true, lizards weren't the first to colonize land, amphibia were so it could be a living member of the group that gave rise to the first amphibia, but now most scientists agree that it is in fact the lungfish that are the closest relatives of the tetrapods alltho not all agree and it might be a while till its 100% clear

  • Let me finish... this is the fish that's the link between fish and lizards. It's a living fossil of the intermediate state of land dwelling vertibrates and fishes. It's awesome.
