This video shows the effectiveness of the ClearSonic A18-6 amp shield, and S1 SORBER baffles. The audio track is from an Audio-Technica 2035 mic placed directly next to the camera. No gain settings were adjusted during the filming. dB reduction can be seen on the sound level meter on the left. Please visti www.clearsonic.com/amp_isolation.htm for more info.

  • uhh, why does the recorded volume decrease as shielding is added if the mic's inside? I'm assuming its a different mic that is recording the sound we are hearing. I'd like to hear the difference in a recording made from the mic in front of the amp.

  • @rickbadertscher The audio track is from an Audio-Technica 2035 mic placed directly next to the camera. We have the audio from the mic in front of the amp as well. Send us a msg with your e-mail and we can get it to you. It's not too exciting, but you can hear some slight tonal changes as the absorption is added to the clear panels in front.

  • very nice unless you live downstairs hehehe

  • using these live,, does the mic gonna make some fedback ?¿?¿ i was thinkinf, that the sound come from the speaker, will bounce in the shield then come back to the mic ?¿?¿?

  • @andrewt248 Hi, I have the Jetcity 1x12 ISO cab. Good suggestion, but I find the best isolation comes from using both the iso cab and a clearshield surrounding it in conjunction with using acoustic tiles. But really, the iso cab is about or a little over 300. Clearsonic shields are also not inexpensive (but reasonable used). While one could build both an iso cab and a barrier out of wood and foam into like a case for their favorite amp/cab....overall, a good 5w amp can't be beat.

  • Sweet

  • For $400+ for this, I'm looking long and hard at the Jet City JETSTREAM Iso cabinet for $330. A whole lot less schlepping and setup.

  • You need to measure the whole room, not just one spot.

  • The affect is clear, but why not just build these out of wood&insulation&save a BUNDLE?It works great in my studio&in places all over Nashville,we just have these wood frame traps w/wood on outside, framed in around the edges&fabric facing the cab&in some cases, insulation on the inside of the frame to trap the guitar heat from beating the audience up&to make sound engineers happy. Plexi is obvious for drummers, but why not just use wood, insulation&fabric for guitar?Better acoustic properties also.

  • @kiancaster Not for the mic, that's the point.
