This part covers the entire boss fight.
Part 1: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XKJt7mPO-SU

Again, I'll have to thank the below video on giving me some ideas on clearing some spellcards I had trouble with in previous attempts on the stage...

Oh, comments on the boss fight, where to begin...

It might be better for some to read these comments later, but oh well.
I'm going to split them into phases on what I thought of the non-spellcard attacks and the spellcards themselves:

1st non-spellcard - Standard fare, no problem
1st spellcard - Thanks to that video, I realized the bullets aimed toward your position as the lasers closed in on you... making it so much easier.

2nd non-spellcard - a bit overwhelming at first, but moving is key
2nd spellcard - A STUPID ERROR OCCURS THAT COULD HAVE BEEN EASILY AVOIDED. I need to stop nudging myself into enemy shots.

3rd non-spellcard - Haven't I seen this before? Anyway, simple.
3rd spellcard - To be honest, I was wondering how to clear this with Reimu A up until that point. I pretty much winged this, which surprised me.

4th nonspellcard - I would have said "standard" but it's kinda fast.
4th spellcard - I really need to watch where I'm going.

5th nonspellcard - it's just the 2nd nonspellcard attack with a little more bullets.
5th spellcard - my brother actually gave me advice on clearing it... or rather, he said I did it right once but told me vaguely how to do it. I figured it out later.

6th nonspellcard - 3rd nonspellcard attack fired faster. I used the bomb here to transform all the bullets to points.
6th spellcard - The lasers pin you down and the bullets are coming in. I moved forward to give myself more room to retreat, after dying here several times in previous runs.

7th nonspellcard - another bomb for points.
7th spellcard - This was actually self-expanatory the first time I saw this. I was kinda surprised at how simple it was compared to others...

8th nonspellcard - used a bomb a litte late. Those bullets can surprise you if you're not careful.
8th spellcard - Even after watching the aforementioned video, I still had no idea how to do this safely. You'll notice I press the panic button a few times here. You'll also notice I'm not hitting the boss - this is a "survive the timer" spellcard, where you're supposed to outlast the timer.

9th spellcard - Another "survive the timer" phase. I thought this was going to be a simple one, but then I recalled what happened in the other video...

10th spellcard - This one's simple, you just have to be persistent and can't blink. I blinked and started to press the panic button a little much.

And finally, an FAQ of expected questions(mostly from newcomers):
"What is this game and where can I get it?"
As the title says, this is Touhou 10 - the 10th game in a series of games just like this, all made by one guy since the 6th(which I find impressive). If you're interested in finding out more, you can read up more on the series via the following link:

"Why aren't you dying more? I saw bullets hit you!"
Touhou has been known for a while as a "bullet hell" vertical scrolling shooter. What this means is that the screen is often littered with bullets, but only a small portion of the character's sprite is open to attack.

If anything hits that small portion(a white circle on the middle of the character - you'll see it when the orbs come closer to my character), you die. Aside from that, any other collisions are not counted as hits against you, but rather as "grazing" the bullets.

"What did you use to record this?"
Hypercam to record with DivX compression. I would've actually loved to have put up the full 14 minute video in one chunk, but Youtube wouldn't let me.

"What are you playing this game with?"
In this run in particular, I'm using a wireless XBox 360 controller with a USB Wireless adaptor. I believe you can get the wireless adaptors at most electronic/gaming stores nowadays.

  • I s till think flandre beats all extra stage bosses...

  • @winry303

I think so too. The fact that I cleared this one within a week should say that much, but I was pretty satisfied with it regardless.

I love shmups! I'm just not THAT great at them.

  • 8:02 wow that thing snuck up on you like a professional had to rewatch that part to c wth killed you lol

  • @xepher480

Actually, if I remember right, I think I expected to be left of the trail that snuck up on me. I mentally slapped myself for mispositioning myself, but look! I was almost done!

  • hahahahaha! funny at 09:20 +, its like KEEP ALIVE OF GAMEOVER xD

  • @jackestripador01

It WAS the first time I made it that far. I wanted to actually finish the stage, so I figured it was time to stop playing so conservative
