@alphamoe Super Mario Bros was also sped up for the Original NES PAL Version.

interestingly, while a number of old games were slower (slowing the music as well as gameplay), some were strangely sped up, such as super mario's virtual console release, and I think that the game monster rancher 2 (released in PAL regions as monster rancher), was also slightly faster (the timer for fights seems to not be counting seconds.)
