Bits in which Diana Damrau appears along with Plácido Domingo and Zubin Mehta. From the '3 Orchester und Stars' (FIFA 2006, Germany).
And here's the translation, finally
(Danke schön, Iska ^^):
Commentator: "Zubin Mehta, the chief-conductor of the Munich State Opera, was already rehearsing last week with the soprano Diana Damrau, who has made herself a name as an expert for the high C on all the great opera houses of the world."
DD: "The occasion is something very extraordinary and for me, of course, it's completely new to sing in a stadium and, well... Soccer, this media bandwidth that comes with it. Naturally, it is also completely different in the musical aspect than when I just get into a role on the stage for a play with my colleagues. It's exciting!"
C: "There are also some rehearsals at the state opera, where Maestro Zubin Mehta and soprano Diana Damrau are fighting their way through the mass-effective Soccer-medley. For the young singer this concert is a special challenge. After all, she does have a duet with her idol, the probably best known operasinger in the world: Plácido Domingo."
DD: "This is for me, personally, completely unbelievable. Because I had, back when I was twelve, at home alone, watched the Traviata-movie with Domingo and Teresa Stratas on TV and that was for me actually a kind of a crucial experience, like for ballerinas the movie "The Red Shoes". And now here, to be able to sing this duet with Domingo is such a great gift for me, I never would have dared to dream of it. I just hope I will be able to make any sound at all!"
C: "Diana Damrau is regarded as a mastress of the high C and is by now at home in every great opera house. For the soccer-classic-crossover this woman from Günzburg chose a seldom played aria by Leonard Bernstein. With the role of a courtesan wants to show us what she's got vocally. And there is even a kind of relation to the WM (World-Championship)"
DD: "It increases into some kind of hysteria and well, yeah, she is really on the edge of a nervous breakdown. And so I thought there certainly are a lot of ladies on the edge of a nervous breakdown during the soccer-WM because their husbands are just not approachable anymore and, well, as the only lady I thought I kind of had to account for the women.
Then in the stadium she says: "I have never been here, I always walked on the outside when I was in Munich with my parents in the past, but, yes, I have to say it is really impressive and... Also the technology and everything given here is just breathtaking."
C: "And then, finally, it worked: three orchestras, three conductors, three stars and one sound: The best known soccer-hymn of the world in classic style. Now Germany can be world-champion!"
can we have translations

One question: Did Diana and Placido Domingo also sing "Tonight" from West Side Story in this concert???? I read this somewhere, but I'm not sure....

Hm, I really don't think so. As far as I'm concerned I have the whole gala, and they didn't. Maybe I'm wrong, but I hope not or I'm missing a bit! xD
