they finally opened a season for gilas in az (1 bag limit) and i cant wait to get out and try my luck

Wow what a fighter, been a while since I've had a stream trout make that many runs on me. Very beautiful too. Pretty soon hopefully their populations will stabilize enough here in AZ to catch em : )

Wow! What an awesome and rare salmonid! That is probably the biggest Gila Trout that I've ever seen pictures of. What an incredible setting as well. That is some amazingly clear water. Thanks for posting the Gila Trout video.

Nope, no Gila's in OR but we don't have salmon or steelhead in NM and that's what I really miss about the PNW. Thanks for the comments.
