I mistakenly said the Remover is an Acid, it's actually a Alkaline. The Acid is in the Brightener, which effectively neutralizes the pH of Benjamin Moore Remover. I added the Benjamin Moore Remover and water into my pump sprayer then sprayed the Deck boards.

  • Forest Products Laboratory determines the standards for the industry not Benjamin Moore. Considering I have been on the Joint Coatings Committee in the Past I would consider my comments. This video is what hurts the industry with improper procedures and inaccurate information. You state that a stripper has acid in it which is ridiculous, strippers are alkalines. I applaud your efforts but this is not wood restoration.

  • @edge1713 Thanks so much for sharing your thoughts. It really means a lot to me.

  • Everett Abrams of Deck Restoration Plus cont'd, The pressure and distance of this pressure washer is excessive. A "wood tip" for a pressure washer is white. Yellow is unacceptable for wood. Mill Glaze is a myth Google it and check out the Forest Products Laboratory PDF on this.

  • @edge1713 The pressure and the distance is a bit excessive, but that's what works for me. I just move faster and hold it a little higher. I recommend between 800-1000 psi and either White or Green Tip for beginners. Important to understand that this will loosen up the fibers of wood and after it dries, you Do need to Sand the Surface. As for the Mill Glaze, Benjamin Moore says the Brightner "Removes the factory "mill glaze," which can interfere with the adhesion of paints and stains.

  • Very good descriptions and explanations. Made it sound so easy! Thorough perspective of what any deck staining job will encounter. Good work!

  • @akwallis Thanks for watching!
