This was one of the many MIDI files that came with the installation of Windows 95/98.

This was played through DOSBox with Windows 95 being emulated through a virtual SB16 card.

NOTE: I added an echo effect to make it sound if you were listening to it at an actual orchestra.

Hope this brings back fond memories! :)

UPDATE: The sound is quiet, so you will have to turn up your speakers.

FUN FACT: This was the MIDI that was played in the Windows 95 tutorial video (with those two live-action stars). This is what it sounded like.

  • Nostalgia!!!

  • Come on....you all remember how nice and exiting this was the first time you had a computer, you know what the problem is, just because we got windows 7 and new games, doesnt mean it makes us feel better, ore more exiting, infact, windows xp is way faster, windows 7 looks like a gallery, not a system, there is more colors in 7 than in a house, eh....by the way windows 98 was slow but i think its adorable hello..! i grew up in the 90s, i dint miss anything

  • Why do i eat pizza everytime i hear this???

  • at least it can play this the first time through hahaha I played it last year in the orchestra, ugh took frickan forever!

  • @SonicTheJackrabbit Well, some use of MIDI on DOSBox uses the newer wavetables native to the host OS.

  • I was just a kid when I heard this MIDI rendition of Bach. Oh my were pre-95 memories of Windows glorious, especially with the hype of classic CD-ROM games like The 7th Guest (though it was DOS), and Broderbund/Randomhouse Living Books CD-ROMS. Those were the days.

  • @ShadowDaGeek well, one thing to know is that sometimes DOSBox interprets MIDI with the decoder of modern hardware.
