We have one of those alarm clocks too. From inside the house, it sounds like a machine gun! He's trying to impress the ladies.

OH MY GOD.
I'm not the only one with a woodpecker assassin?!
He comes to my house every day from 4-7 am and pecks on our drain pipes on our roof!
I caught him a few minutes ago, and stomped loudly on the deck (good plan eh?) and he LOOKED AT ME.
Then he walked (yes, he walked) away and started pecking.
I kept stomping until he flew away.
My parents have both shouted at him, but he ust keeps coming back to "mark his territory".
