GDOD-Lunar (((Drum))) Cycle

This short video produced by the Ian Douglas Foundation is a part of our ongoing research and active participation into the healing, knowledge of movement, dance and drumming related to the mysteries of the Afrikan peoples. The collage of images and sound in the video are part personal creations along with material share with us from various sources, with which we are very grateful. Global Day of the Drum (GDOD) Lunar Drum Cycle (LDC) was created as a monthly activity, drummers, dancers, spiritual scientist, and all persons interested in healing, after the success of GDOD conceived by Ian Douglas, Barbados, launch in July 3-5. 2011 worldwide. The LDC initiative is designed to bring people together in the cycle of the Moon but also to give those who can't be together in groups or collectives the opportunity to participate in a more personal setting with instrument and people of own their choice.

The moon is perceived by many cultures old/new, as the mistress of the influence of divine waters, however there is a myth in circulation the our bodies is made up of 90% water!

Technically our body does Not contain 70% or 90% water! in fact it has very little 'free water" because it is consumed through the metabolic processes and becomes other liquids e.g Cerebrospinal fluid, urine, blood plasma. So we might safely say that our physical bodies contains 70% LIQUID but not 70% water.

Here is a few facts about our liquid gem; Water is uniquely the only natural substance that is found in all three physical states—liquid, Solid, and Gas, at the temperatures commonly comparable to that found on Earth. The density of water means that sound moves through it long distances (ask a whale!). In sea water (Ohun) at 30°C, sound has a velocity of 1,545 meters per second (about 3,500 miles per hour). Water is the "universal solvent" because it dissolves more substances than any other liquid. When water is pure it has a neutral "pH"of (7), which is neither acidic (7) nor basic (7)....(pH..relates to a measure of the relative amount of free hydrogen and hydroxyl ions in the water)

There have been many mysteries and "superstition" about the moon and what "She" represents.

One of the first word that i had to look up in the German language was the word "Superstition". because the English we now speak originates in that language. Superstition is translates as "Aberglaube" or "gegen glaube" which basically means apposing beliefs. This word does not carry the same negativity nuances in German that some, when speaking English would have us be(lie)ve.!
