I recently moved to Charles Town, WV. I can pull into the ANB parking lot literally 15 minutes after pulling out of my driveway. I must say that it is surreal to walk the Bloody Lane Trail where the Union Charged as well as to stand into the Bloody Lane and look out upon the fields. I can only praise any man who fought the battle at this location Just check out the James Hope Painting "Bloody Lane" for a non-Hollywood glimpse of the actual sacrifice men made in this little corner of Maryland.
