Answer me one question. Why was the Confederate National Government granting slaves their freedom if they fout for the South? Also, only 5% of the Southron population were slaveholders.

Only blacks that fought for Confederacy were going to be freed after the war? that must of been a HORRIBLE quandary for those latter day slaves. Fighting in hopes you would be freed but fighting to enslave your brother.. wow. THE TRUTH IS: while only 5% of southerners were slaveholders 100% of white southcarolinas citizens (and nation including the UNION) benefited off the sweat of slave labor. everyone thinks it was all about slavery... It was about states rights being taken away from them, and just so happens that slavery was a RIGHT in the southern states. Not saying that it was an ok "right" to have, it was nonetheless a "right" that was trying to be taken from the South. Now as for slavery itself, it is wrong, but you have to understand the times back then, it was the norm. But you shouldnt try to "erase" the history of the CSA b/c of what a few did.....
