@communitywork That's right. But the solution is NOT to spend more on education. If you look at the Dept. of Budget and Management, the budget for education has doubled in 10 years yet educational performance has gotten lower. The money doesn't got to teachers but to the administrators and bureaucrats. The answer is to eliminate the DepEd. Might sound radical, but its the only sure solution.

Ang problema ng edukasyon ay gobyerno. Kung hindi gobyerno ang nagbigay ng edukasyon, walang problema ng edukasyon. Walang crisis sa sapatos dahil wala ang gobyerno sa sapatos. Pareho lang din yan sa edukasyon.

Sad reality is our teachers who are actually subsidizing the education of our children through their low salaries. In public schools, the starting grossfor Teacher I in 2007 was P10,980 a month (after P1,000 hike with the 10% across-the-board increase for government workers. Mandatory deductions for income tax and for Government Service Insurance System, Pag-Ibig and PhilHealth premiums result in a net take-home pay of around P8,200 per month -- well below a reasonable wage by any standard.
