He is not, in the real play she is supposed to be hidding the shot, until she faints, he doen't question himself what happens to her friend. The problem is that they represent this momento ina different way

I agree, in fact.
However, the director had decided that she was to be shot in front of him, and sadly the music doesn't lend itself to abject panic at that point.
Regrettable, I concur. :)

This has to be one of my favourite scenes/songs in Les mis. I think both Adam and Jacqui sign and act wonderfully in this.
I wish I came to scene les mis now. :P

As firebrowser saids here further down, 'ponine get's shot while Marius stands in front of her... i just thought he might react more drastically if he saw one of his best friends get shot right in front of him.. Anyway... nothing more to make a fuzz about...let's just keep on cherishing Les Mis ;) Merry X-mas
