Guys, this is vietnamese war music, vietnamese martial arts not chinese. World Famous Commander General Nguyen Hue was the pioneer of this art and used these drums as well as his vietnamese martial arts invention to defeat the Chinese Qing Dynasty and its Great Qing Empire. Also he defeated the THAI with his martials arts, this is why we do not practice MUAY THAI as if they lost against us using their martial arts, why should we learn theirs when we won with ours?
@MysticRonin101 I respect Vo Binh Dinh and would like to see this music applied in a kickboxing match some day to represent Vietnamese as competent kickboxers as it is in our blood as well and therefore, our birthright to practice it. Furthermore, it is good to absorb some Chinese kungfu elements in order to augment our martial arts but it is retarded to completely imitate it, which is what I"ve seen from some other "Vietnamese" styles. Fuck all the fancy wushu bullshit.
Well, I believe more Vietnamese should practice muay thai instead of always trying to imitate that silly chinese kung-fu. It's for their body-type, not ours. We are Southeast Asians and even though the original Kinh migrated from Southern China, Vietnamese people as a whole are mixed with Southeast Asian groups such as Chams and Khmers, as you metioned. We're also grouped in the same genetic cluster with the Thais as well.
I currently train SE Asian kickboxing and it works best for me.
@MysticRonin101 Well Vietnam is southern Chinese. so there touch of Chinese/India/french ..since the religion in Vietnam budism and other..if you see Vietnam history you would find out. it's not shame.
when you look u there history you going to find out about chams and khmer . beside muay thai they wasn't the first to create the blood sport style it's was Cambodia, the only reason muay thai was popular in Thailand mean freedom. so in Cambodia lost that part of history cause war crap.
