Here is a quick version of the make-up application I did for The Phantom of the Opera. The make-up design is my own, and the mask is based closely to the original Broadway mask.
Thanks to Jason Whitaker for sitting thru it over and over. He really is one of the best make-up subjets I've worked with.

  • @PierceFitz- The prosthetic is foam latex, custom made for the actor. The foundation is a substance known as PAX (a mix of pigment with prosthetic adhesive) All of the airbrush colors are Badger Inks (pigment) mixed with rubbing alcohol.

  • @Angelofmusic- the application time was about 2 hours.

  • @TomMatt- The Phantom singing is the very same one in the video. I'd give you his name, but I don't think he needs more fan mail. lol

  • @ R0obiin, Thanks! I was pretty happy with the design. I was trying to get it some place in between the stage version and the movie version (as far as aesthetics go.) It needed to look good on stage, but I wanted it to be be more realistic than the original design.

  • can i possibly buy a copy of the mask you made?

  • @ThePhantomphan24601 Send me a private PM or email on here and we can work it out!

  • Please could u tell me in a private message if possible all the makeup you used and to spray through your airbrush and what material the actual prosthetic was made out of? If possible that would be the most helpful thing in the world :)

  • That was really cool. How long did that take to do (approx)?

  • who`s singing during this video?

  • Hi, can I buy a copy of the mask you used in this video?

  • I like this design more than Chris Tuckers Phantom design! :) Nice work, though I would have liked to see a more close up, to see the texture and edges! But again nice design! :)
