Season 9, Episode 14 Aired: 11/2/2009
Episode 907

Synopsis Monday night's "Dancing with the Stars" again challenged the remaining contestants to undertake two dances -- an individual routine and a team performance. With another double elimination on the line, the dancers were split into two teams: Team Tango and Team Paso. The pros put on an exhilarating display of what the two dances should look like before the remaining seven couples.

Head judge Len Goodman said the pressure would go up a notch, but "good isn't good enough from now on -- we're expecting great dancers."

Michael & Anna: NFL Hall of Famer Michael Irvin hung on last week for another round after winning the dance-off. While rehearsing his foxtrot, Michael admitted he's "never been mistaken for Fred Astaire." Len, who loved Michael's dance last week, said "again tonight, this foxtrot was brilliant." Bruno Tonioli said Michael's musicality has improved, but his butt still sticks out. Carrie Ann Inaba said Michael's routine was "gracious, it was fluid, it had great content," and she even praised the costume he designed for partner Anna Demidova. Michael was so excited, he gave Tom Bergeron a peck on the cheek on his way off stage.

  • I love this dance!!!

beautiful dress Mya should have won!!!!

  • Len can be quite stroppy...In their case though, I think it's not because they have gimmicks in the dances but that they fill almost half of their dances with them (whereas others would throw in a few bars, maybe). As great they are to watch, he is a ballroom expert who has to go by what the dance calls for. I love her dancing but do think it's more for the musical stage.

  • Well that's your opinion. Len didn't have a problem with Mark and Melissa's charleston in the begining w/their gimmicks, or the end of Michael and Anna's foxtrot , or Derek and Joanna's futuristic paso doble and their lambada When Joanna gave him a kiss on the cheek, or Kelly and Louie's 60's jive with the doll and all. He only had something to say to Mya and Dmitry. Carrie Ann and Bruno never commented on the gimmicks with any of the couples. They were consistant Len was not!!

  • I agreed with Len on everything... They always add gimmicks to their dance. She's a good dancer and all but they need to leave those gimmicks out of their routines.

  • What's up with Corky Ballas and the old geezer next to him at 4:57?? They look like two hit men with a mission against Mya. Geez such haters!

  • Great foxtrot! Len is on crack!!! I watched Anna and Michael's foxtrot, which I thought was good, but they were not in hold the whole time either. Len will say anything to score team Dmya low. Anna said that the foxtrot is a very elegant dance, but it's all about the performance and showmanship!! This dance is exactly that!
