i searched google for "austria considering banning guns" and couldn't find anything

if someone is planning to kill someone, they're not just going to throw up their arms and say "aw shucks, guns are banned in this country, looks like i have literally no way of killing anyone"

@magicaIpineapple That's true, but it says very little about guns and more about society in that case. Some societies are just better behaved in that respect. And yet, when you do get homicides in Austria, I think you won't be surprised when in turns out that 80% of homicides in Austria are committed with a gun. And yes, Austria has plans to ban guns.

as of 2010, the country with the least amount of homicides is Austria, where 1 in 20 civilians own a gun and uses it regularly

@magicaIpineapple If you look through my videos you can see some from a few months back where I'm sat on tatami flooring, singing in Japanese, or even performing at a Japanese venue.

Anyway, my point was essentially that if we all just lived out our lives to the maximum, without any need for guns, would we miss them? Obviously not, and would the world have less crime and homicide without guns? Obviously, yes. So, why are they legal?

it's probably very hard to learn a completly different language, get a visa to work in another country, then come back and work in the country you grew up in, but i have no reason not to trust you, random internet guy

also i don't own a gun, but i don't penalise people for owning one because i have a basic understand of how the world works

@magicaIpineapple That was years ago. Since then I've learnt Japanese, lived and worked in Japan for over a year, on returning I bought a nice sized flat back in London with my girlfriend who moved over with me from Osaka, learnt a new musical instrument (my 4th; guitar, drums, keys, sanshin). As for this week I've been helping tourists sightsee in London as part of my work, but enjoying every second (especially taking Fins to the local pubs). Life is fast... and I still think guns are bad.
