Black Squirrel, White Tail

One day in summer 2007, I was in our yard, weeding a flowerbed, when I saw what looked like a black squirrel with pure white tail running away from me. I thought maybe I was mistaken, maybe I had just seen a small skunk.
Few days later I saw him again and yes, tip of his tail is pure white, like a tail of a black and white housecat!
He would eat seeds that had fallen on a ground from birdfeeder in our backyard, in the fall I used to see him around our oak tree. But I haven't seen him since spring 2008, we moved our birdfeeder and also stopped feeding birds during summer time.

I would've believe it if I didn't see it with my own two eyes,a squirrel was tossing food crumbs out of a garbage can,down to waiting sparrows.When the squirrel saw me looking at it,the squirrel stared back at me, went back down into the garbage can, came back up with it's own food crumb,and started eating it.I thought that was strange for animal like a squirrel to do for the little sparrows.

I've got one in my neighborhood, here in Toronto. See it many times walking my dog and going to work. My brother has seen it as well.

We have a conspiracy theory that a squirrel and skunk got it on.

I just saw a squirrel EXACTLY like this, in our neighborhood in northern Indiana. So i came home and googled it, "black squirrel with white tail", and found your video.

When i saw the squirrel, i even wondered if it could have somehow gotten paint on it's tail tip....but, i studied it a while, and realized, nope, it IS a white tail.

My dog chased this squirrell up a tree, and the squirrel then hung over the branch, taunting my dog, making fairly loud lil "SCREAM" noise.

That's funny, thank you for your comment :) Yes, when I saw him, I thought I was seeing things and started following him. But yes, tip of his tail was pure white.

I haven't seen him for few years now, but few months ago I saw another black squirrel in our backyard , tip of his tail was dark grey .
