The Burning Bed is a non-fiction book by Faith McNulty about battered Dansville, Michigan, housewife Francine Hughes. Screenplay by Rose Leiman Goldemberg. After thirteen years of domestic abuse at the hands of her husband, James Berlin ("Mickey") Hughes, she set fire to the bed he was sleeping in on March 9, 1977. Mickey Hughes was killed and the house destroyed in the resulting inferno.

This was phenomenal acting by Farrah!! Offers should have been pouring in after she starred in this!! It was a really good made for tv movie!!

This is the scene that always got to me. The way she describes the pain from just eating a cracker. The music is so subtle and heartbreaking. This movie made me a Farrah Fawcet fan.

Yes Farrah was a very gifted actress,,,she is sadly missed :( I HATE DOMESTIC VIOLENCE - soooooo glad there are laws to protect victims nowadays !!
