@megalodonNL well I agree that Ignashov had a lot of potential of becoming a K-1 legend, but if I remember well before the match with Badr he said that he regreted for his lifestyle.....but if u know something more I won t argue with u! ^^
No, I believe that this is a stubborn exaggeration that people spread around only because Iggy liked to have beer. If you get a little drunk during the weekend, it doesn't mean you are an alcoholic in my opinion. And it doesn't explain that, after 2004, we never seen Iggy knee and kick like he used too, so I really think the injuries is what stopped him. Still impressive how he wasn't knocked out against Schilt in 2009 and Hari in 2010. That does show that he's still good.
Even though I'm Dutch, I was a big fan of Ignashov and I actually wanted him to win this tournament that year. He showed a great performance in Paris and I thought nobody was gonna stop him that year. 2004 was another strong year and after that... things went downhill because of injury (from what I know of it). So sad. Even when he was in bad shape, nobody could knock him out. An accomplishment in itself.
Aerts had nothing on Iggy.
