Grandfather Mountain, North Carolina mile high bridge June 10 2010 - Very Windy

I enjoyed all the hiking trails available at Grandfather, and as windy and cloudy as this day was, it was clear skies and sunny just below the peak. There were some serious wind gust that day as you can see in this video, but it was still fun!

  • My wife and I are from that area. We've spent a great deal of time where you were. A few winters ago we were in the parking lot with a couple inches of snow and gust up to 75 mph. We only drove up parked for a few minutes and carefully turned around to leave. Our truck had been blown sideways maybe 5 inches. If you've been their during heavy wind it's not unbelievable , Some scary stuff and then the thought of driving down that bitch,,,, The first switchback (Forrest Gump) curve will kill ya,

  • @MrNickDangerThirdEye That is interesting, and I can believe it. I have spent a lot of time in western NC over the past few years, and while my travels have mostly been in the summer I have seen some storms. Thanks for checking out my channel and enjoy the mountain views :D
