(not sure why you start with because) and then you say "This method of development is unheard of in other forms of (lower) life." These two sentences contradict each other. Does lower life exist? Lower compared to what?

I'm going to assume you mean that eggs don't have a "predecessor" to evolve from. There are several similarities in other life forms. Half of you was egg-like at one point.
