This is a video summary of our sojourn to the Ruby Mountains just South of Elko of Hwy 80 in Northern Nevada. The rock was somewhat chossy and needed cleaning, but the movement and the problems were stellar! This was a super fun 3 day visit and many projects were done. Our grades in this film are likely a little bit sand-bagged to be honest. This is not a destination, but worth a visit if you are near. There was a huge avalanche that prevented us from exploring further up Lamoille Canyon Rd., but David O tells me there is more boulders up there! Many of these problems that we did were likely First Ascents, but we did see some evidence of cleaning, such as the world-class, 6 ft plus "Cloudwalker" dyno. For fun and the meanwhile, we took the liberty of naming problems. If anyone has any beta about these lines, which have been done, names, grades, etc. please get it to me and I will update the info! We do plan to return this summer perhaps to search for more boulders higher up. The rock cleans up well, but is scaly and chossy at first. Many thanks to Metolius for sponsoring this trip and to Evolv for the amazing climbing shoes. This is a Try Hard, Ltd. Production. The "Try Harder" trailer will be coming out in the next month.
Hey, I am from the Elko area and just wanted to let you know that the problem you referred to as" Formula One" is actually called "God Send" and is a problem I set back in 2005. I also rated it V3 and it is pictured from a different angle in the Lamoille climbing guide that was published back in 2006. loved the video
