True story, a family friend worked with Robert on this film at the time. He asked me if I knew about the Stone of Destiny as he heard I was scottish. The discussion seemed a bit weird to me as we were at a wedding reception. I was able to recount some of the story but did not know the names or exact date but I had heard about it and my political views are SNP even though I have lived in England most of my life. Incidentally he is Irish

Coincidence? Robert Carlyle was in a mid-90s mystery series called Hamish Macbeth, based on the books by M.C. Beaton. The final episode of the third season centered on the Stone of Destiny.

How much do you LOVE Robert Carlyle's real accent? He does such a good job in his films you forget he is pure Glaswegian through and through. He is an amazing actor. Not to mention a bonnie fine lad!
