http://mwf.com.pk - Morning with Farah interview with Kishwar Naheed, one of the best-known feminist poets of Pakistan. Sha has written more than 10 collections of poetry, two anthologies of English translations of poetry published in India and 16 collections of children's stories. In a field dominated by traditional male voices Naheed, writing in Urdu, was pioneer of a new, distinctively feminine voice and has produced over the span of thirty years a body of work that is innovative, defiant, political, and self-aware. Her first collection of poetry, Lab-i goya, published in 1968, won the prestigious Adamjee Prize of Literature. This collection of traditional ghazals was followed by collection of nazms, translations of foreign poetry, and by many works in free verse.
Kishwar has held the position of Director General of Pakistan National Council of the Arts before her retirement, has edited a prestigious literary magazine Mah-I naw, and has founded an organization named Hawwa (Eve), whose goal is to help homebound women become financially independent through cottage industries and the marketing of handicrafts.

Steinem's idea of feminism meant a woman had to be pro-abortion, anti-family and anti-man -- anti-anything moral! I always believed that feminism was about what a woman wanted to do. That meant a woman had the right to make a choice. Palin and Bachmann are true feminists. They are pro-life, pro-family and they made it in a man’s world without invoking the victim status! Steinem is more about politics than about feminist! As far as eco-feminism? Learn about United Nations Agenda 21.
