Nix pissing the swan off.

All swans hiss angrily if predators are near their babies!

I've had some similar swan encounters like these. The first when I went to Center Parcs with my family and a swan came into our lodge and stole my mum's slippers, and the several others in a local park which I've been taking my dog to since puppyhood where the swans have hissed at us every time we've got too close. xD

Don't mess with Swans, they can break your arm with their wings.

Wow. They look so elegant, but they sound evil! O_o

I used to feed swans down by the local river, but then try and pet them when i was a kid. They use to hiss and bite me, but it was pretty puny bites.
You're very brave! Good vid!

It is a matter of being an annoyance and a threat, but not a danger.. my wife agrees that I should just have kept away, tho. Still, I've handled geese of equal size while I was less than half my current size. Or maybe I just lucked out ;)

Maybe you did. I was feeding some cygnets at a local park when their mom came up and just hissed. I backed away and it chased me and swatted my head with its wings and bit me. Sure, I was five, but that hurt. Maybe now that I'm bigger I wouldn't get attacked, but when I hear a swan or goose hiss, I run.

Yea, well, when i was five they (the geese) were very scary. But these days.. well, until they bite me, they are not scary ;)
