and 2 think he calls this 'terrible'...give urself some credit, David! This is quite descent for being written by a 15 year old

@divanahi It was actually when he was 17-18 that it was recorded - I bought a copy of this CD from him and Bobby Kerr when they were seniors in high school (I graduated BSSHS two years after he did). It was a 5-track demo on Memorex CD-Rs with a paper insert for the cover, the first and last track were the same (Somber), the difference being that the last was the accoustic version of the first.

Holy shit, if David was singing like this in high school, then it's no WONDER he won American Idol!

I love this song. It's so cute to think of a teenage David writing and singing.

good song david cook...nothing to be ashamed of...i love it

Very good first song..not as bad as he insinuated it was! I like the riffs!
I know he was 15 when he wrote this song but I wonder how old he is singing it. He doesn't sound like a teenager but he may be. It is fascinating to see how this amazing talent developed over the years and how he came to be what he is today.

i'll take this over CBTM,LO& TOML in a heartbeat!
I can't stand his dull singles and the sappy lyrics on them. BORING!
davids OWN lyrics FTW!
i also love to blast this song in my car.
