@rbairos1 - If you spent three minutes online researching Harper, you wouldn't have left that message. In any event, go ahead, vote him in and see what happens. Good luck with that.

@justanoldman1 - 2. Canada's population is aging progressively without any regard to how well the economy is doing. It does not take a mental genius to realize that older people need more medical care. It is absurd to ignore the needs of an aging population in favor of a growing economy.
-
@justanoldman1 ----- 1. When the economy is bad, there are more poor people and therefore in need of medical attention. It makes no sense to think that when the economy is growing that we should spend more unless there is a greater need.
-
@justanoldman1 ----- In reality, the Conservative plan will see 6% healthcare funding increases until the 2016-17 fiscal year, with little regulation over provincial governments increasing experimentation with public-private partnerships.
Beyond 2016-17 the plan is to bind federal healthcare spending to GDP growth, a fundamentally dangerous move toward codifying Canada's public healthcare into capitalist economic terms.

@yukoncornileus4 Incorrect -- Harper assaulting and spying on anyone disagreeing with him, WHICH HE'S DONE, is very fascist.
-
@justanoldman1 Do your homework, nimrod, Harper's openly talked about scrapping health care.
-
@order9066 - okay, whatever you say about the 1%, they get what they want, screw the other 99%, got it now.

@rbairos1 "Exploring new more efficient methods"??? I think you have to understand what the word PRIVATIZATION really means. The elites take a country so beautiful & everything, (ARGENTINA knows what I write about) convince the people that they do what is best for the country, but it is a hidden agenda more dangerous than anyone can imagen, until it leaves a country in misery & its people on the streets. Peace.

all i heard was, "I'm a bitch, i'm a bitch, i'm a bitch...."
Privatizing Healthcare will be a thrilling ride for the poor and middle classes
But this eminently sensible, cost-effective public solution has been resisted by some on the right, who argue that the mandatory CPP deprives Canadians of the choice not to invest in their retirement.
This is reminiscent of arguments by the American right against public health care, on the grounds that some risk-lovers prefer to be without health insurance.

Of course, those making such arguments are usually well-off financially, with little risk in their own lives.
Still, they fiercely defend the right of the poor to experience the risky pleasures of life without a safety net.
