Just a bit of fun...
Me trying to do a 6 octave scale from Bb6 to Bb0. These are my highest notes (squeaks) and lowest notes (croaks). I can occasionally squeak notes higher than this but I'm not sure I can hear anything lower, let alone vocalise it!

I do sing Tenor or Bass and in normal repertoire go up to Bb5 which is the one above Tenor top C. I havent found any songs written that high so interpolate. Eg. End Pity the Child CHESS with a slide up to Bb5. In Bass I sing down to a bottom C, the one below the bass clef and this is my lowest useful note. This is an optional note in Oh Isis and Osiris MAGIC FLUTE.

  • 2 things:

    -That's deep

    -Whistle tones are awesome

  • That was fucking annoying, i hate vocal Fry

  • @TomTomG00 Even tenors can hit these low notes (see brett manning) it sounds like 'vocal fry'.

  • @mark88bon he is a bass, very likely a basso profundo to be precise, how else would he be able to reach the 0 octave at all?

  • Sounds like a dizzy mosquitoe there. Lol.

  • @Kotlettbengt thanks for your question. I can sing low but regularly sing high C without falsetto. please see my channel Gethsame (sing many high Cs and all in full voice). I also attempt a top Bb (Soprano Top Bb) in 'Moving too fast' at 3:49. Of course 6 octaves is just messing around and using falsetto but I dont sing like this. Bottom C to high C is only 3 octaves. Bottom to low, low to middle and middle to high.

  • @Marvinglz I'm so glad to hear that, thank you! :D Do you know any examples of such singers or a link showing someone displaying such a range?

  • @Kotlettbengt Of course it's possible! There are many singers who are basses and can sing higher notes than a tenor even! Range has little to do when determining classification. So just because you're considered a bass doesn't mean you can't sing a male high C, in full voice, or any other high note for that matter. Practice doing scales up and down your range.

  • @Marvinglz Do you know if it's possible for a bass who can reach the lowest note he did to also be able to hit a high C without using falsetto? How many octaves would that be?
