The Red Cross Red Crescent Academic Network is pleased to invite you to the fifth guest lecture on "Impact Evaluations" as part of its efforts to promote continuous learning and increased knowledge sharing.
Our speaker, Dr. Jyotsna Puri will lay out the need and pre-requisites for impact evaluations in a humanitarian setting. She will examine the data, technology and resource needs that can inform robust impact evaluations and monitoring systems.
Dr. Jyotsna Puri is currently managing the inter-agency evaluation of UN's involvement in Haiti. Jyotsna has more than fourteen years of extensive experience in monitoring and evaluation and she has evaluated projects and programs in over fifteen countries. At the Earth Institute at Columbia University as M&E advisor and associate research scientist, she was responsible for setting up impact assessment and monitoring systems in Africa for the Millennium Villages initiative. An economist by training, Jyotsna is also Adjunct Assistant Professor at the School of International and Public Affairs at Columbia University. She has worked with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Evaluation Office and with the World Bank. A native of India, Jyotsna holds a PhD from the University of Maryland and Masters in Development Economics from the Delhi School of Economics, India.
