Demonstration of a custom Pong-style game controlled by an Emotiv EEG headset. The left paddle is 100% controlled by my thoughts as they were trained within the Emotiv system for 'Lift' and 'Drop', Hand movements are used to aid the recognition of these thoughts. Resetting the game requires a sharp look to the right taking advantage of the built in gyroscope. The right paddle is controlled by the camera operator using a Wiimote.
Since a full speed game just is not possible with thoughts alone the ball as been slowed considerably.

$299 with a gyroscope, lithium battery, and wireless is a good price, but I don't have that much. They should make a $50 that you just plug in, I'd buy it in a heartbeat :D

Hi Rich, can you tell me how successful you can be, if at all, moving the paddle without physically making the gesture? Can you do this at all? What % reliability would you estimate without the physical gesture?

That was an impressive display of the emotiv epoc's capabilities. I hope to get this and I hope it really takes off. I was wondering that if you made it bigger and add numbers that could assist you of paddle location would it help? And as you get better you could remove the numbers to make it more complex by not relying on seeing the numbers visually but thinking its location because you already know its location.

SICK!!!!!!! Did you guys code the game yourselves?
carlsoncarlson 4 months ago
@carlsoncarlson Certainly did. It was a fun exercise in math and input device integration. The game will work with a WiiMote, USB Joystick, and of course the Emotiv Epoc.
