Super Smash Bros. Brawl Boss Battles 1:09.75

Speedrun of Boss Battles mode in Super Smash Bros. Brawl on Easy difficulty with Charizard. Completed April 4, 2008.

This was a little side project before I went back to Symphony of the Night. It's also to get the ball rolling for more Smash Bros. runs. Not just Brawl, mind you. We are very well overdue for a run of Smash 64.

As you can see, Boss Battles is very similar to All Star mode. The main difference is instead of fighting other playable characters, you're fighting the game's 10 bosses. The order of the first 9 are random, but Tabuu is always last.

This run was done on Easy to achieve the lowest time possible by one person. If you want to see Intense, tough shit. Look elsewhere. I used Charizard because Rock Smash is that godly.

Individual comments on bosses:
Rayquaza - He hit me once, but no big deal. Lost maybe 2 seconds.
Master Hand - 3 hit kill. Could've been two if he didn't do the punch move.
Meta Ridley - Beautiful. Can't be improved any further.
Ridley - Again, an ideal setup. Cannot be improved.
Galleom - He stomped on me, costing another couple of seconds. Still, this was very good.
Crazy Hand - Another 3 hit kill. Again, could be a 2HKO with proper luck. Hey, it could've been worse.
Porky - He did his Thousand Hand Slap, which he does about half the time. Otherwise, not bad.
Duon - The biggest blemish. He did his spin move, where he can't be touched. Afterwards, he jumped to the other side. I tried to catch him on the way down, but that failed. Can be imporved by at least 4 seconds.
Petey Piranha - Very nice.
Tabuu - He decided not to move for a long time. So I was able to take 3/4 of his health off before he even did anything. Very lucky, but the first and only move he did was one where he's invincible. Oh well, win some lose some.

You'll see that my record prior to this was about 1:29. That just shows the kind of luck I got in this run, namely from the Ridleys and Tabuu. But there are times far better than this, some of which were made before mine without my knowledge.

Ok you said some crap in the video description but i'll only point one of them out: tabuu is not invincible while he is doing that move. Sure you can't use rock smash on him like that, but that by far does not mean he is invincible during that move.

I know. I learned shortly afterwards that he can be hit during that attack. Even with Rock Smash.

if you use donkey kong. you can beat galleon in 10 seconds

I beat him in 4 seconds. And he can easily be beaten in 3.

I can only list two, but most harcore gamers will find them more than enough:

1) a personal feeling of accomplishment on 100% completition.

2) Effing bragging rights. Period.

The quickest I beat Porky is 5 seconds because of his rock attack that stayed at the top of him and kept taking chunks of his hp out.

Yes, it is quite possible to beat it on Intense by yourself. Indeed, I've done with every single character in the game.

As for this video, it is very out of date. 1:09.75 is a pretty slow time; I've gotten 1:01.xx and the WR run is 39.xx.

It is true that there is some amount of luck involved, though - certain boss patterns make it impossible to go under a minute.

Even so, it is not too difficult to consistently get 1:15.xx or so. Below that requires skill and luck.

is it even possible to beat this on intense alone... i had to get a friend (2 charizards spamming rock smash) and still couldnt beat it

my best record on easy is like 4:30 u_u

also if you are REALLY fast using metaknight you can take out the bosses really easy with him(dodge-atack you know...)
