Old school will always overcome newschool. Heart and determination- new techniques.

I think Gotti is the only fighter that would come close to take punishment like Marciano, their is a difference in a boxer and a fighter. I love watching a fighter in my opinon

Modern boxers will always beat old school boxers. New techniques and styles have been created since those days, the sport has passed them by. It can't be helped.

they say that if you were to put all the great heavyweight boxers of all the eras in a room together, Rocky would be the man to walk out and thats real talk. R.I.P. Rocky Marciano. you will always be my hero and a place in my heart for as long as i live.

@MrPsychopath83 Ali weighed 210; the young Foreman weighed 217. Rocky did fight guys that size (Louis weighed 218 when they fought). But, ya, he would have been in trouble against Lennox, the Klitschos etc.

@DeDona1 Vingo had a loss when Rocky fought him and Rocky didn't want to fight Patterson, Liston, or Johansson for the same reason Floyd Mayweather doesn't wanna fight Pacquiao. He was afraid of losing, even if he thought he could beat them. Vitali Klitschko retired, at the age of 33 (the same age Rocky announced his retirement at, though he was only 32 in his last fight) for four years because of injuries, and now he's back and dominating the division at the age of 40.

@bigmoney749 Pardon me but I missed your comment. Rocky beat and nearly killed Carmine Vingo who was 6'4" and weighed 230 pounds. He was an undefeated contender. Who do you think Rocky was trying to avoid? Patterson, Johansen? I dont know man. Rocky by the time he retired had a bad back which plagued him throughout his career. Dont undersell how good Walcott was. He was one of those guys like Hopkins who peaked late. Walcott would have given a prime Joe Louis big trouble.

@Mr23Zoeboy Thats fair. I say Joe Louis 1, Ali 2, Marciano 3, Foreman 4, Holyfield 5, Frazier 6, Dempsey 7, Tunney 8, Lennox Lewis 9, Mike Tyson 10. I truly believe Tyson could have been the best.

@MrPsychopath83 he never fought anybody who wasn't already senile
@MindofaJedi you cant use simple high school equations like Strength x speed = power, for something as complex as the human body, if power was determined by weight then nikolai valuev then hits harder than Tyson.Punching power depends reflexes, natural power, balance, body-to-hand co-ordination, leverage, follow-through, positioning, snap, timing, speed of body turn, accuracy, commitment to the punch and physicality. nothing to do with mass.
