pre 1974 upto 80mph though most set 70 as the limit
1974 lowered to 55 mph in response to 1973 oil crisis
till 1987 when raised to 65 (NV challenged fed law)
Nov 1995 fed law removed and back up to 75mph most rural interstates since then

What do you mean, "back then"? This is not an old thing, the interstate highways and 80 MPH have been around for a while, since the 70's I think.
