@theNoirQu33n well said..i like what you say..its true...just look at magazine and tv shows..and movies...most of the time it's not black people..or especially its not black women..i have white friends who think only the light skin black women are beautiful..im tired of how society has tried to set the standard for beauty...i like your post so much..thanks for trying to explain it to clnmike..I guess someone has to black to understand

I said the same thing last week. I know alot of black women and actreses with a bigger curvier body than kim like serena and serena's body is not glorified. Maybe ki is famous because its so unsual.

@voxpopulivoxveritas lol girl me to you're not alone. My mom and sister have asses and big boobs. I take after the body shape of the women on my dad's side of the family. I LOVE my flat ass no boobs. I dont' think I would be able to handle all that ass on my 5'5'' frame lol.
Not all black women are "booty" blessed. Just like the self image problems that can occurs with the idea of being skinny as a white standard of beauty and not being able to live up to it, this acceptance of big booty women as the "norm" for black women shoots women's insecurities in the opposite direction especially younger women. You can see it when music video got absurd with the amount of full figure women in their videos and little girls watched the trends like hawks.

Well that's true. But at the same time, we, as black women, must disregard the false images...the bias images we see on the screen and know for ourselves that we are beautiful. Just as we are! And no, not all of us are full figured...'booty' blessed. Neither should we self-destruct to become a size double 00. And that's the beauty of our uniqueness. We come in all shapes and sizes

Now you have women who are not endowed bottom wise coming up with all sorts of ploys to get rounded such as cosmetic surgery or a less than healthy diet. It poses a catch-22 for women obsess over losing weight to fit mainstreams standard of beauty or over eat to satisfy a cultural standard of beauty.

They're just focusing on the fact that our features have not always been so pleasantly embraced as it is now...with the fact that women of other races make it acceptable now. They're not saying "go get yourself a donk if you aint got it"..but they just want to expose the media's biases...when it comes to black women and our features.
