  • Not all black women are "booty" blessed. Just like the self image problems that can occurs with the idea of being skinny as a white standard of beauty and not being able to live up to it, this acceptance of big booty women as the "norm" for black women shoots women's insecurities in the opposite direction especially younger women. You can see it when music video got absurd with the amount of full figure women in their videos and little girls watched the trends like hawks.

  • Well that's true. But at the same time, we, as black women, must disregard the false images...the bias images we see on the screen and know for ourselves that we are beautiful. Just as we are! And no, not all of us are full figured...'booty' blessed. Neither should we self-destruct to become a size double 00. And that's the beauty of our uniqueness. We come in all shapes and sizes

  • This is borderline stereotype.

  • how so???

  • Now you have women who are not endowed bottom wise coming up with all sorts of ploys to get rounded such as cosmetic surgery or a less than healthy diet. It poses a catch-22 for women obsess over losing weight to fit mainstreams standard of beauty or over eat to satisfy a cultural standard of beauty.

  • They're just focusing on the fact that our features have not always been so pleasantly embraced as it is now...with the fact that women of other races make it acceptable now. They're not saying "go get yourself a donk if you aint got it"..but they just want to expose the media's biases...when it comes to black women and our features.
