  • If you ever setup an eBay shop and decide to sell this or any other Philips with the Piano Key motorboard autochanger .... Let me know!

    This channel is brilliant BTW

  • @PatSharpsNastyMullet Well thankyou for your kind comments.l would indeed let you know.

  • I seem to remember back in about 1990 my grandmother had an old record player that I think belonged to my mother and her sisters, kind of like this one only completely manual, I don't even think the think had auto stop, it did have stereo speakers though. I'm sorry to say this, but even though the record player I'm talking about was most likely made in the mid 70's it was a complete load of crap! It didn't run at the right speed, it didn't sound all that good and it soon stopped working.

  • l was asked a while back to try to fix a truly horrible contraption made in the 70s,this record player was made by someone l'd never even heard of.The amp was crap, and not helped by tinny little speakers in plastic boxes. Not everything made then was good!

  • my nan used to have a Boots tv, always wondered what all that was about. didnt know it was made by another company on behalf of boots lol think shes still got a boots clock radio that looks like it was made by Binatone.

  • Boots had quite a few things made for them, sometimes the rebadging was so good you couldn't tell who made it!

  • AHH.Those 13x8 beasts are indeed hereabouts. Two in a pair of old EMI speaker cabinets, and one on its own lurk in my shed...

Yes,the 19x14 would be really something.

    Will keep watching the skips...

  • -'Didn't sound as good as the elliptical speakers?' Surprising thing about AG3304's channel - the lack of E.M.I. 13 x 8 elliptical speakers! Well there's some on my channel anyhow. Though 19 x 14s would be a find! Yes the E.M.I. 901 elliptical and its elliptical mid range and elliptical tweeters, just might turn up in the sunny south! And would certainly be worth saving from the skip -that one with all the co-axial tweeters, the original 1965 E.M.I. 901! AG3304 might just land one?

  • l'll have to look it up,thanks!

  • The Canadian Maritime style is a little heavier on the fiddle. It's popular in Nova Scotia.
