This is the story of a Golden Age superhero living in the Modern world. In his heyday, the Protector was greatest of all superheroes. But now, as an old man with a heart condition, this former hero is learning that even though his will might be strong, there are some things you can't save from time.

  • After watching this again, I thought of something that could happen at the end. A bunch of thugs are terrorized a guy near the Protecter's house. He hears the cry and he decided to suit up to save him. During the fight, he gets another heart attack and ... well if you do it, than you'll think of something. "All because you can't be killed, doesn't mean you can't die". That is an awesome line.

  • @NightBeast12 the protector is 105 years old and has been inactive for 40 years. anyone he fought is retired or dead.

  • It's a little too similar to the Destroyer revamp by Robert Kirkman and Corey Walker for my taste. (aged hero with a heart condition laments he's unable to do what he used to, eventually gets back into the melee despite his limitations)

  • @paranoidandroid2010 just looked up the revamp, guess what, it came out in 2009. my short film predates the revamp by 3 years. looks like someone ripped me off.

  • @blinky500 I highly doubt that Kirkman scours youtube for ideas.

  • @paranoidandroid2010 what you doubt is irrelevant. the math is simple. my story is predates the marvel max story by 3 years. and its not too far fetched that kirkman saw this. my movies make the rounds. but whatever. just recant on your similarity statement seeing as how my film came first.

  • Oh man. That is so sad.

    I feel sorry for him.

  • This was just beautifully done. Your script writing remains thoroughly impressive to me, probably because I'd love to write vignettes as deliciously fleshed out. Well done!

  • I don't normally like these superhero shorts. But this is fantastic. Keep up the good work.

  • @blinky500 It was just an idea. I also think that if that happen, the Protecter would do it. He seems like the hero to do it, young or old. I also thought he looked more like he was in his 60's. In the vid, didn't he said that he was fighting crime for 50 years not 40?

  • DID YOU MAKE IT YET????

    I WANT THE GRAPHIC NOVEL!

  • Very Watchmen-like, very Frank Miller-like.

I love it. By no means take this comment as offensive or trying to say you gusy are not original.

I mean it in a very flattering way. Comics and superhero movies shpuld be like this.

  • That was beautiful, a fantastic portrait of an aging superhero. Love the old Noire feel and retro "Superman" look to "The Protector", I was saddened at the end when he reminds himself of the old days. Everyone has there limits.

Incredible movie. It's going into my favorites.

  • wow a great idea for a story i love this great job

  • @blinky500 okay. I'm with you. I just read the Destroyer Revamp. other then The Protector being old and with a heart condition this is not similar at all! anyway. great work as usual! keep it up and don't let people say otherwise or keep you down!

  • I like this alot but the one part were he is taking out the costume took alittle to long. When he is laying it all out. You could have down some slow and fast cuts to show he put the whole thing out . It just felt alittle dragged out to me. The beginning when he takes it out and looks at it was fine though. I like the writing i would enjoy reading the comic if you ever do come out with it.
