You are into your 9th month and your baby's organs have been finished forming. The baby occupies the whole uterus and has no space for turning or pushing. The baby's head is most likely to be in the pelvic region. The uterus does not press the stomach and diaphragm so much; therefore heart burn, indigestion and breathlessness are happening less frequently. Urination will be more frequent due to the pressure on the urinary bladder. The lungs are formed and are ready to function on their own. It starts releasing a substance called surfactants to help them expand at birth. The baby starts storing iron in a liver for outdoor life. Your baby's kidneys are still producing lots of urine every day, helping to make up the almost two pints of amniotic fluid. The fetus will gain about 1/2 pound per week this month. Normally a baby would weigh anything between be between 7-8 pounds and 19-21 inches in length.
