I love Huun Huur Tu but WTF is with their latest crappy electronica/new age? This New Age "fusion" stuff makes me want to hurl.
-

The song beginning at about 2:30 is called Öske Cherde, and can be found on their album 60 Horses in My Herd.

Being from Mongolian ancestor on my mother side, this music calls me in my heart.
My bones almost shake.. RECOGNIZING the rythms and sounds. Was once at a performance in Québec to share an evening with this group. I was thrilled !

So awesome. Variations of all those instruments are used throughout Asia in folk and traditional music, including in South Asia (India, Pakistan, Afghanistan) and Central Asia and Iran. Love seeing the pan-Asian similarities. I'm South Asian.

These guys are awesome, we had a throat-singing group visit my high school years back and I bought some of Huun Huur Tu's music right after that. The group had a woman in it, and the tone was the exact same as the men.

this is so rad! at first, i thought he said the name was "ONE or TWO", and then when the vocals started i had a flashback from the burping contest in the movie "Revenge Of The Nerds", and then i started getting dizzy.
as a musician, and a fan of metaphysics, as well as art, i give this video THUMBS UP!
am i the only one whose teeth went numb listening to the vocals?
Message from Huun Huur Tu:
Please check our youtube clip "Huun Huur Tu in Children of the Otter by Vladimir Martynov". It's a promo clip of 77-minute composition for Huun Huur Tu, chamber orchestra, and choir. We just premiered with it last September in Russia
