Well done on the demo here! "Butterfly" doors became popular for coal-fired locomotives, as they both permitted a wider firebox mouth for stoking and were safer to control on rough track; most industrial boilers powering stationary steam engines, in addition to earlier locomotives, used side-hinged doors as shown here.

Well, Butterfly Doors or slide-doors are most common, thats true.

But this boiler is not scale at all and so its easier to make a side-hinged door (less parts) and though it is less fragile...

The boiler? Its just scratchbuilt to get some practice in building (coal fired) locomotive boilers.
