Pixie bobs aren't hybrids, they are a domestic breed of cats :)

While you guys are doing a great job supporting abandoned animals, you do yourself no favors by scaremongering about Servals and Savannahs.

Savanahs make great pets - it is very easy to find examples (e.g a friend in California has one).

On to Servals - if all your servals are feral - well maybe thats due to their *particular* history. I've looked after 2 at KWS Orphanage and they would purr after playing case and jump with me.

We know SOME savannahs/servals can make OK "pets" but this isn't always the case! Most of our servals are former pets that nobody wanted anymore because of the way they acted, we have almost 20! What's even worse than people abandoning these animals is breeding them for the pet trade in the first place, breeding servals with domestic cats is abuse in itself, all our servals would rather eat a domestic cat than mate with it!

Most people also dont realize that for every 1 Savannah cat you see sold 10 or so have been killed in the process. Domestic cats and Servals are not of the same Genus. Meaning many times the hybrid offspring have birth defects. Those animals are usually killed. If a Serval doesnt breed well theyre usually abandoned. If the Serval doesnt take to it's domestic partner many times it will kill it.

By creating Savannahs we are litterally breeding the wild out of Servals. So many small cat species are going extenct while millions go into making Savannah cats. Not only that but thousands of cats are killed each year in shelters who just need a loving home. Meanwhile we're spending thousands to own Savannahs. Donate that money to small cat conservation work and go adopt a shelter cat who really needs you.

Youre wrong. As a Felidae Biologist ive worked with countless Servals and Savannahs. They can be very loving and affectionate. Cheetahs can make amazing companions. Probaby the most affectionate cats youll ever meet but it's cruel to keep these animals locked up and breed them just to be locked up as pets. Also Huskies are not related closely related to wolves. Theyve been bred over 1000 years. In 1000 years maybe Savannahs will be domesticated but not in 10 years.

They would make bad pets because the owners before them were probably trashy people who just wanted to look cool with an exotic pet...... I however want 2 F1 savannahs because I love the animals, and after a serval has been bread to a domestic cat, generally the breeder breeds more servals..... so the savannah breeders are actually helping the serval population as well.
