Used these in shops for years. Making the guide rails from the engineered plastic found in catalogs like Rockler etc. will reduce the friction and wear.

@urgonnah8this you might be able to buy more time with the sled if you do as I did and wrap some masking tape around one or both or the runners. My sled has been serving me for over ten years, and I just can't bring myself to throw it out (although I should ) ... It 's a bit of an "agricultural" solution, but it's quick and easy and it does work. You might need to take a sharp scraper to the runners first if you have previously waxed them.

I added 3/8 washers to the rails to stop the sled tipping at the end

Is your sled's body sliding on the saws table or just on the guides?

good guide ... can you send me the manual via email?

@besamemucho5 nice sled, but it looks too big for your tablesaw. do you have trouble when you reach the end and it tips down? or do you guide it with a catch table, or roller guide?
Why would you waste time constructing a plywood blade guard ?
Just screw on a couple of pieces of 4"x2" to the fence where the blade cuts through, does the same job without messing about.

looks nice....but it sounds like it drags somewhat...maybe some waxing on the tablesaw might help?

@besamemucho5 I've just noticed it beginning to have some play back and forth. Just a little bit. Probably time for new runners or a whole new sled. Still, probably the most useful thing in my shop.
