This is the second half of the ascent to the OH! Point on the Engineer Pass Trail. We had footage of the view from the point, but I recorded our helicopter trip over the Royal Gorge on top of it. It is a spectacular place with a true 360 degree view.

We try to go to Lake City Colorado every year. I just got married and my husband and "bonus" sin have never been. We are taking the Alpine loop next week on ATV's. I hope they find the breathtaking beauty in this place! It is amazing any time in July!!!

I know that it can be done, but there are alot of corners that you would have to 3-4 point turn. The only trail that I came across that I don't think I would want to be in a large full-size rig would have been the Tomichi Pass Trail heading southwest. It got very tight between the bog and the pass and headed in that direction the drop is on the passenger side. It could be done, but with the old truck smashed on the bottom of the drop off even my little Jeep felt too wide in places.

You should probably wait until summer. I took the trip late July into early August and still came across alot of snow in the upper elevations. Of course it would be neat to drive it all covered in snow and ice but I don't think that the road is even open untill early summer most years. Have fun!
