@jpsets8961 Filthy animals? How can you sit in your house and want more, and not see that there are people who have absolutely nothing and that the Corps are helping them develop? Take away your home, most of your food, and water/power. Would you be grateful for the people helping you?

@jpsets8961 No, haven't been socially programmed to believe in the value of Peace Corps. I lived it. Three times. Peace Corps only goes to countries that request our services and that can be helped by our services. You should actually try it and not bash it.

@jpsets8961 The rape was true. Remember, it also happens here in the states as well. By helping people overseas we are helping our own stateside.

@whatisdrunkal Too bad you feel that way. I did PC three times and each time was vastly different but, worthwhile not only for me but, for the locales. PC Volunteers work directly with the locales. We live, eat and work with them as well as using the same type of transport. You don't have to have liked your time but, don't falsely portray PC as negative or bogus.

These volunteers have tremendous egos. Most of them spend all their time inside their little apartments drinking and skyping back home. But the stories they tell make them seem they're Jesus. I think my fellow PCVs need to get off their high horses and start criticizing this organization for their deceit and lack of concern for the real problems facing our world.
