Law Junction N gauge layout. Filmed at Hartlepool Model Railway exhibition. The layout is a model of the West Coast Main Line at Law Junction including the distribution terminal, sidings and the main line junction itself.

The layout includes examoles of specific trains such as the BP Grangemouth to Dalston tank train, EWS intermodal workings, DRS workings, Freightliner container trains and Virgin Trains passenger workings including Cross-Country and West Coast operations with Mk.2 and Mk.3 coaches together with DVTs and Class 87s.

  • great layout - would have nice to have seen some 'junction' action as it is a junction after-all

  • Yeah I agree with you. The time I was watching no crossing of any junction took place! Impressive layout all the same same though. Thanks for the comment.

  • It was really good to see this layout. it seemed to go on for ever. Thanks for the comments

  • @horseyshmao well theres the insurance value and what the sum of the parts cost which are two different things.

But id say we spent £2000.00 on everything including the latest point indicators for the fiddle yard as that's been upgraded now.

Also the junction is now reliable to operate as to begin with some of the points were sticky.

  • hope u dont mind me asking but roughhly how much did this all cost cause i really want one

  • impressive and very real for a small gauge :)

  • Great layout, but no electric units

  • Hi, did this layout ever appear in a magazine?

  • for a small scale, they're hauling some good lengths there, gotta be at least 2kgs of carriages behind them

  • You know a layout is good when from a video or pictures you can't tell what scale it is. (obviously discounting if you see something too compare it too, such as a hand)

  • thats a big layout man.

  • very good

  • Doesnt get much better than this. Love the real open feeling of the layout, one of the best I have seen so far. doesnt look "N guage" at all just natural
