Golden Silk Spider Eating a Jewel Wasp (Super Macro) セイボウを食すジョロウグモ♀

A female of the golden silk orb-weaving spider (Nephila clavata, family Nephilidae) having a luxurious meal. The glittering prey caught on the orb was a jewel wasp (aka cuckoo wasp; Chrysis ignita?, family Chrysidae). Mid-September 2009 in Japan.

庭先に造網したジョロウグモ♀が食事中でした。美しい獲物はセイボウ科の蜂（リンネセイボウ？）。うーん、勿体無い。こんな小さな蜂でも捕らえてしまう高性能の（目の細か­い）網です。

the clip-on macro lens is not so expensive as a telephoto lens.
