A ditched car I saw on on my journey along the 'Crooked Mile' actually Holyfield road B194. This road runs between Waltham Abbey and Harlow, through Nazeing. This is a frequent sight, I just happened to be filming on the 2nd of February. The car is a Blue Peugeot 307sw. I don't think it was much of their fault, there was thick sludge on the road from run-off of a nearby field. Good job I was taking it easy at the time.

  • i never saw thay car

  • 34 seconds into the clip, on the left side ditch, just beyond the police car on the right :-) sorry about the quality of the video.

  • there's always cars parked 'crashed' along this run road!

  • Yep, it can be really dangerous, I think you'll agree. Flooding, ice, sludge, run-off from farms, loose tarmac, pot-holes, draincovers, uneven cambers, this 60mph road has it all. Oh yeah, oncoming trucks in the middle of the road. Maybe there should be what I'm calling 'bend speed limits'. There could be a sign showing the direction of the bend with a sign saying 'MAX SPEED 40' etc. I've seen them elsewhere.

  • My boyfriend drove over a huge lump of concrete and made a hole in his exhaust on the crooked mile. It was too big to miss it and their were cars coming the other way. We think it fell off of a skip lorry.

  • my dad smashed into a snow pile going down a hill on the crooked mile. If the car had moved 2 inches forward the car would have fell 7 foot. Not much, but in a car, its not nice.

  • did any 1 hear about the crash in bumbles green?

  • no i saw the car in the video its just i go up and down that road all the time and i saw it.

  • they have a few of those corner limits out towards epping, i normally do a loop if im bored on a sunday lol

  • Totally agree.

I often go down to fishers green from Broadley Common direction, and so many times on that turn off - i've had people trying to park in my boot!
